Welcome to Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Information Technology services.
The University Technology Services (UTS) site offers students, faculty, researchers and staff useful information on how to efficiently access our wide range of available resources. The main aim being to foster an inclusive and engaging experience, one that enhances learning, research, and operations across HBKU through the effective and innovative use of information technology.
UTS, a responsive, user-centered unit, assists HBKU in major functional areas, including Academic Computing; Administrative Computing; End-User Training and Support; Communications and Networking; and Systems Administration and Operation. The UTS team features value-driven, seasoned experts and aims to support HBKU’s operations by:
- Advancing the University’s academic and research efforts through the use of technologies
- Enhancing operational efficiencies and business processes through the effective implementation of information technology
- Extending systems and services that enhance student learning and foster curricular innovation

Policies and Guidelines
HBKU IT follows a specific set of policies and procedures based on standards and best practices related to managing risk to data, technology resources and other institutional information assets. It outlines specific requirements or rules that must be met and are usually specific to a topic or area.
Using international industry standards as a guide, the policies manual encompasses various aspects of information security including, but not limited to system access and authentication; system and data integrity; data access, privacy, and confidentiality; and incident response.
